Oceania eSIM, answered.
The things worth knowing before you pay, answered for this destination.
Buy an Oceania plan here — for example 3 GB · 15 days for $12.99. The QR code shows on screen straight away and is emailed to you. Install it at home over Wi-Fi a day or two before you fly, and leave the new line switched off. When you land in Oceania, switch the eSIM on, make it your mobile data line and turn Data Roaming on for it. Keep your home SIM switched on for calls and bank OTPs, with its own data roaming off.
Oceania plans start at $4.99. Unlimited plans run from $5.49 for 1 day, each with a full-speed allowance per day that is printed on the plan. Fixed-data plans start at $4.99 for 1 GB over 7 days. Every price includes 18% GST, and nothing is added at checkout.
Switch the eSIM line on, set it as your mobile data line and turn Data Roaming on for it. Within a minute or two your phone should show a local network in Oceania. If nothing connects, turn Airplane Mode on and off once, or pick the network by hand in your phone's settings.
For maps, messaging, social media and the odd video call, about 1 GB a day is plenty. For a light trip, 3 GB · 30 days is $13.99. If you stream or work online, a bigger plan such as 20 GB · 30 days ($78.99) is the safer choice.
Trip lengths for Oceania run from 1 day up to 30 days. Pick the one that covers your dates — a plan cannot be extended once it is running, so buying a second eSIM is the way to add time.
The data never runs out, but the full speed does. Every unlimited plan for Oceania gives you a set allowance each day at full speed — it is printed on the plan, for example "1 GB/day" — and once you have used it the connection slows down until the next day rather than stopping. Maps, messaging and email stay usable; video and large downloads will not. You are never charged extra and you are never cut off.
Some plans on this page are regional and also cover Australia, Fiji, Nauru, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu. The countries are listed on each plan, so check that line if your trip crosses a border.
